Yesterday we returned completely amazed by a natural beauty of rainbow mountain. It was discovered for tourism only in 2015 and the first guided tour was done in 2016. It took us six hours to reach its summit at the height of 5200 meters. During our hike we breathed heavily and walked very slow while locals were passing us easily (almost in a running pace) in sandals without any socks when it was 5 C and hailing. The color of the mountain is created by seven types of minerals and that is why the name – rainbow mountain. The whole area around is quite sacred – during Incas time the mountains around served as a sacrifice ground where human sacrifice were business as usual. We spend one hour and a half on its summit just enjoying the beauty created by nature and taking lot of pictures unfortunately no picture ever can translate a stunning beauty of the colourful mountain. #day084#dnaexploringtheworld #peru #cusco #rainbowmountain #5200abovesealevel #moreadventures at ift.tt/2g7Uehd
